Graduating from Auburn University with an Industrial "Product" Design degree with a minor focus in business, Jayson started his career designing for a retail solutions agency in the Greater New York and San Diego areas. Working with many global brands to develop in-store fixtures, he gained experience in client relations, brand adoption, marketing strategy, materials, manufacturing processes, and budget awareness. In 2015 he took on the Senior Design position with the Bloomberg Innovation Team and the City of Mobile to develop innovative city-wide solutions using Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design Methodologies. After nearly 7 years of transitioning his skill set from products to services, and the team into an official city department, Jayson has now taken up the role of Director of the Office of Strategic Initiatives.

Jayson was recognized as a Bloomberg Cities Innovator of the Week in April of 2019.

With eight years of mastery in Adobe Creative Suite and extensive experience in team management and collaborations with large commercial companies, King brings a unique blend of creativity and leadership to his role. His educational journey from architectural drafting to pursuing a B.A. underscores his commitment to integrating design and marketing strategies. King's involvement in community services like the Mobile Optimist Club and his leadership in creating impactful designs for the city highlight his dedication to applying design thinking for community betterment. As a designer, King champions the power of human-centered design to transform public services, embodying a philosophy that design transcends aesthetics to solve real-world problems and enhance human experiences.
